When it comes to dedication and service excellence, the Areas team excels. That has been proven time and again and is tremendously special when their hard work and dedication are recognized by our partners. Recently the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) recognized four team members for their outstanding service and commitment to guests who visit Florida’s Turnpike service plazas.
Meet Linda Collier, this year’s recipient of the FDOT We Drive Smiles Award. Linda works at the Turkey Lake Service Plaza where her infectious smile is appreciated by teammates and guests alike. Linda exemplifies great service through her demeanor and powerful work ethic. She leads by example daily and ensures guests at the Turkey Lake plaza always feel welcome.

The Financial Performance Award was presented to Nancy VanBriesen, General Manager of the Okahumpka Service Plaza. Nancy has consistently improved the financial performance of the operations at the Okahumpka plaza through her skillful management, passion, and commitment to service excellence.

Brenda Patterson received the Longevity Award, now having served guests at the Fort Pierce Service Plaza for 46 years. Since joining the Fort Pierce team in July of 1976, Brenda has been a shining example of service excellence. Although now semi-retired, Brenda continues to bring her enthusiasm and commitment to Fort Pierce guests two days a week as a shift supervisor. Vyronisse Williams was presented the Excellence Award for her unparalleled commitment to guests at the West Palm Beach Service Plaza. Vyronisse always scores above 95 on her concept audits, and she takes great pride in training the entire West Palm Beach plaza team. Regional Operations Director Filinto Galban says, “Vyronisse is an outstanding employee and a great role model who always leads by example.”
