‘Tis the season to be charitable! Areas USA has given customers the option to donate to charity during their ordering experience. St. Jude is the featured charity for the month of December. Additional planned options include tabs containing LTO’s (Limited Time Offers) and suggestive selling pop-ups during checkout. The technology also features a curbside delivery option – an option that will be offered in the future.
Behind the scenes, it has been all hands-on deck in a collaborative effort between the IT and Marketing departments at Areas HQ to seamlessly tailor the 86 menu items, pictures, and pricing available at Turkey Lake. The new software supplies a multitude of benefits to site management and customers.
For one, with this technology, there is less room for error since the guest is placing their order exactly to their choosing. Additionally, any menu item can be easily added or changed. To promote a better customer experience, management has the ability to change hours of operation for holidays as well as to temporarily hide menu items that are not available due to issues, such as supply chain shortages.
The IT department ensures everything is PCI DSS compliant. This means that all Areas systems are secure, and our customers can trust us with their sensitive payment card information. Additional payment convenience methods such as Apple Pay, are also a secured payment option currently offered to customers. The software will soon offer the Google Pay option as well.
Shauna Stevens, Helpdesk Specialist in the IT department, is spearheading the implementation of the pre-ordering software. “Anything that improves the guest’s experience and makes ordering easier, quicker, and more effortless has driven the integration of this new software,” says Shauna. “This technology does just that.”
The new technology is currently live at the FLTP Turkey Lake plaza and working great, according to Shauna. After integration at Turkey Lake is complete, the plan is to onboard the rest of the service plazas on the FLTP every week, with the rollout complete in January. Details surrounding integration outside of the state of Florida are forthcoming.
