Miami, FL – Areas today announced the successful acquisition of Delaware North’s Travel Hospitality Services (THS), adding 237 outlets across 22 U.S. airports and welcoming more than 4,000 new team members. THS generates over $500 million in annual revenue, significantly strengthening Areas’ footprint in the U.S. travel hospitality market.
This strategic acquisition represents a major milestone in Areas USA’s growth and firmly establishes the company as the largest privately held travel hospitality operator in the United States.
As a result, Areas USA has tripled in size, now operating nearly 400 locations across 27 airports and 12 travel plazas, with a team of more than 6,000 employees nationwide.
The U.S. division now stands as the largest business unit of Areas, a global travel hospitality leader headquartered in Barcelona. Together, the company will generate more than $3.1 billion in annual revenue, operate over 2,200 restaurants and retail stores, and employ 24,000 people across 11 countries.
