Areas USA’s sustainable approach to construction for highway and turnpike travel plazas has earned LEED certification for all plazas except those currently under construction and those anticipating their final certification.

The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) awarded Areas USA the Green Airplane rating for their sustainable concessions program in terminal 5 in Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The CDA is the first in the nation to develop sustainable guidelines for design and construction at airports. The Sustainable Airport Manual was created as an integral part of Chicago’s ongoing efforts toward implementing more environmentally sustainable initiatives across all airport activities.
